27th March,2010 is the sinking of the Ex-HMAS Adelaide sunk of Avoca Beach and Terrigal for divers from all over Australia to explore . This will be a major attraction to the Central Coast and is only ten minutes way from Central Coast Waterfront.
The HMAS Adelaide was decomissioned in January 2009 after she served 27 years for The Royal Australian Navy including commissions in 1991 Gulf War and 1999 East Timor war. Besides this she has been used to rescued many stranded yahtsmen and asylum seekers . The Adelaide will begin its final chapter being sunk of Terrigal and Avoca to create an artificial reef and dive wreck site.
